The Recipe Breakdown

Let me walk you through the steps to create these delectable bites.

Ingredients You'll Need:

  • 2 portions of salmon

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1-2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 tbsp parsley flakes

  • 2 tbsp paprika

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Start by cubing the salmon into bite-sized pieces. I find that using a sharp knife on a cutting board helps to get those perfect 1-inch cubes.

  2. Seasoning the Salmon: In a large bowl, toss the salmon cubes with olive oil to coat them evenly. Sprinkle on the garlic powder, onion powder, ginger powder, and salt. Mix everything to combine well.

  3. Coating with Panko: In another small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with parsley flakes. Coat the seasoned salmon cubes evenly in the panko mixture. For that extra kick, dip each salmon cube in paprika on both sides.

  4. Air Frying: Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray or cooking spray. Arrange the salmon cubes in a single layer to ensure they cook evenly. Air fry at 380°F for 8 minutes or until they turn crispy and golden.

  5. Finishing Touch: Drizzle the honey over the crispy salmon bites right after they come out of the air fryer for a deliciously sweet finish.

How to Store and Reheat Leftover Salmon Bites

If you have any leftover salmon bites, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To reheat, simply place them in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 350°F until they are warmed through and crispy again.

Can You Freeze These Salmon Bites?

Yes, you can! Just place the cooked salmon bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid. Transfer them to an airtight container or a zip-top bag for longer storage. They make a great option for meal prep!

Jazz's Tips for the Perfect Air Fryer Salmon Bites:

  • Choosing the Right Type of Salmon
While you can use any salmon, wild-caught salmon is recommended for its rich flavor and higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids. King salmon and sockeye salmon are also excellent choices.

  • Ensuring Crispy Salmon Bites
To achieve crispy salmon bites, arrange the salmon in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This allows the hot air to circulate evenly around each piece. Additionally, spray the basket generously with cooking spray or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.

  • Making Ahead for Convenience
You can prepare the salmon bites ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They reheat beautifully and make for a great option on busy weeknights.

  • Pair with Your Favorite Sides
These crispy salmon bites are incredibly versatile. They can be served over a bed of white fluffy rice, added to a rice bowl, or even tossed on top of a salad for a quick and healthy meal. Another delicious option is pairing them with my air fryer asparagus recipe!

  • Pair with Sauces
These salmon bites are great on their own, but if you want to take them up a notch, try serving them with a creamy sauce like my spicy mayo or your favorite dipping sauce.

These air fryer honey garlic salmon bites have quickly become one of my go-to recipes for a quick, healthy dinner. Whether you’re a salmon lover or just looking for a delicious meal to whip up in a hurry, I’m confident this recipe will become a staple in your kitchen too.
