Why I Love This DIY Shamrock Protein Shake Recipe!

  • Naturally green! There is no green food coloring or food dyes in this green shamrock shake! It’s naturally green with fresh spinach and avocado!

  • Lower in sugar! The sugar comes from dates.

  • Great for a food craving! It is creamy, smooth and fresh. This copycat fast food shake is so delicious and perfect with a dollop of whipped cream on top for extra richness.

  • Won’t give you a crash! It won’t spike your blood sugar to give you a crash later in the day. This delicious drink will give you sustained energy for every activity in your day, with a balance of protein and healthy fats!

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Oat milk - Swap for any real milk of choice. You can use almond milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, regular milk, or soy milk. Anything you have on hand works!

  • Cottage cheese - Swap this for plain Greek yogurt.

  • Frozen avocado - If you have avocados that are going bad, you can chop them up and freeze them!

  • Vanilla protein powder - I used Nuzest, but you can use any kind of pure protein!

  • Baby spinach - You won’t taste it, I promise; it just adds the green color!

  • 2 dates - This adds sweetness. If you wanted to, you could swap for any sweetener of choice!

  • Mint extract - Swap for fresh mint leaves if you have that available!

  • Ice cubes - This just adds thickness to the smoothie.

  • Whipped cream - This is fun for topping. Use any sort of whipped cream!

  • Chocolate chips - Great for a topping! Use white chocolate chips instead!

Blender I Used!

I used the Splendor Blender by Our Place. It makes super creamy smoothies with its sharp blender, ensuring the perfect texture every time. It only takes 45 seconds to blend and is made without harmful chemicals like PTFEs, PFOAs, and other PFAS.
